and so it begins
a wickedly sweet
blossoming in the ribcage—
spiralling lotus daggers
coiling and uncoiling,
in a sumptuous dance;
taunting and tempting,
tempting and taunting
a ravenous rage:
a nameless god--
sorrow from your depths
til you can no longer hold back;
til you explode
in myriad hues of black
wicked and sweet

I like the Asian images and the it's-good-to-be-bad feel.
I love the way you made it appear NOT porn-ish. Unless I interpreted it in a wrong way?
Oh my, I'm really not good with poyms. Especially english poyms. =(
@ niel - thanks. i guess images (and words) just fell in place. i didn't have any conscious plan of painting it asian as i was conceptualizing it, just the general image of bursting/exploding emotions.
@ scheez - porn? hahaha. far from it!
I guess Mr Scheez sense the erotic flavor to the dance.
daggers? hindi ako masokista! haha! :)
Sinong umaway sa iyo, Gentle, at bakit may saksakang nagaganap na blossoming in the ribcage? And such a sharp object this is, na hindi mo naramdaman ang pain, it was rather wickedly sweet.
When you realized you've been stabbed, you tired to stauch the flow and the pain, coiling and uncoiling, til you can't hold it back.
Funny... one saw the culture, the other saw the erotic. I saw violence. hehe
@ shatter - kabaliw ang koment! hehehe. i think its all of the three--violence, emotions, and a dash of erotica; depende din talaga sa titingin or babasa. but when i was writing it, its more on the outpouring of intense emotions.
i remember a character from a book i am reading right now, athena from the witch of portobello. she dances very well, oblivious of the outside world, outpouring the most intense of her emotions, which may include rage and hatred, but also filled with passion =)
